Leviticus 2

1 And when any one offereth an oblation of a meal-offering unto Jehovah, his oblation shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense thereon:2 and he shall bring it to Aaron’s sons the priests; and he shall take thereout his handful of the fine flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn it as the memorial thereof upon the altar, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto Jehovah:3 and that which is left of the meal-offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of Jehovah made by fire.

4 And when thou offerest an oblation of a meal-offering baken in the oven, it shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil.5 And if thy oblation be a meal-offering of the baking-pan, it shall be of fine flour unleavened, mingled with oil.6 Thou shalt part it in pieces, and pour oil thereon: it is a meal-offering.7 And if thy oblation be a meal-offering of the frying-pan, it shall be made of fine flour with oil.8 And thou shalt bring the meal-offering that is made of these things unto Jehovah: and it shall be presented unto the priest, and he shall bring it unto the altar.9 And the priest shall take up from the meal-offering the memorial thereof, and shall burn it upon the altar, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto Jehovah.10 And that which is left of the meal-offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of Jehovah made by fire.

11 No meal-offering, which ye shall offer unto Jehovah, shall be made with leaven; for ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, as an offering made by fire unto Jehovah.12 As an oblation of first-fruits ye shall offer them unto Jehovah: but they shall not come up for a sweet savor on the altar.13 And every oblation of thy meal-offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meal-offering: with all thine oblations thou shalt offer salt.

14 And if thou offer a meal-offering of first-fruits unto Jehovah, thou shalt offer for the meal-offering of thy first-fruits grain in the ear parched with fire, bruised grain of the fresh ear.15 And thou shalt put oil upon it, and lay frankincense thereon: it is a meal-offering.16 And the priest shall burn the memorial of it, part of the bruised grain thereof, and part of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof: it is an offering made by fire unto Jehovah.

Lover om matoffer

1 Når noen vil ofre et matoffer til Herren, så skal hans offer være fint mel. Han skal helle olje på melet og legge virak på det. s2 Så skal han bære det fram til Arons sønner, prestene. Presten skal ta en håndfull av det fine melet og av oljen, dessuten all viraken, og han skal brenne det som et påminningsoffer på alteret. Det er et ildoffer til velbehagelig duft for Herren. 3 Det som blir til overs av matofferet, skal Aron og hans sønner ha. Det hører til det som er høyhellig av Herrens ildoffer. s

4 Når du vil ofre et matoffer av noe som er bakt i ovn, så skal det være av fint mel, usyrede kaker med olje i eller usyrede brødleiver smurt med olje.

5 Er ditt offer et matoffer som er stekt på helle, så skal det være av fint mel som er blandet med olje, og usyret. 6 Du skal bryte det i stykker og helle olje på det. Det er et matoffer.

7 Dersom ditt offer er et matoffer som er stekt i panne, så skal det lages av fint mel med olje. 8 Et matoffer som er tillaget på en av disse måtene, skal du bære fram for Herren. Du skal komme til presten med det, og han skal bære det fram til alteret. 9 Og presten skal av matofferet ta ut påminningsofferet og brenne det på alteret. Det er et ildoffer til velbehagelig duft for Herren. 10 Det som blir til overs av matofferet, skal Aron og hans sønner ha. Det hører til det som er høyhellig av Herrens ildoffer.

11 Et matoffer som dere vil bære fram for Herren, må ikke lages til med noe som er syret. For verken surdeig eller honning må dere brenne som ildoffer for Herren. s

12 Som en førstegrødegave kan dere bære slike offer fram for Herren. Men på alteret skal de ikke komme, til velbehagelig duft. 13 Alle dine matoffer skal du salte. Du skal aldri la saltet, som hører til din Guds pakt, mangle i ditt offer, til alle dine offer skal du bære fram salt. s14 Dersom du vil ofre et offer av førstegrøden til Herren, så skal du ofre kornaks som er ristet over ilden, nyhøstet korn som er knust. Det skal være ditt matoffer av førstegrøden. s15 Du skal ha olje på det og legge virak til. Det er et matoffer. 16 Og presten skal til påminningsofferet brenne noe av det knuste kornet og av oljen og dessuten all viraken. Det er et ildoffer for Herren.
