Leviticus 20

1 And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,2 Moreover, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.3 I also will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.4 And if the people at the land do at all hide their eyes from that man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and put him not to death;5 then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that play the harlot after him, to play the harlot with Molech, from among their people.

6 And the soul that turneth unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto the wizards, to play the harlot after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.7 Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy; for I am Jehovah your God.8 And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am Jehovah who sanctifieth you.9 For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall surely be put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.

10 And the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.11 And the man that lieth with his father’s wife hath uncovered his father’s nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.12 And if a man lie with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood shall be upon them.13 And if a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.14 And if a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you.15 And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast.16 And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

17 And if a man shall take his sister, his father’s daughter, or his mother’s daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a shameful thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of the children of their people: he hath uncovered his sister’s nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.18 And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he hath made naked her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.19 And thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother’s sister, nor of thy father’s sister; for he hath made naked his near kin: they shall bear their iniquity.20 And if a man shall lie with his uncle’s wife, he hath uncovered his uncle’s nakedness: they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless.21 And if a man shall take his brother’s wife, it is impurity: he hath uncovered his brother’s nakedness; they shall be childless.

22 Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all mine ordinances, and do them; that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, vomit you not out.23 And ye shall not walk in the customs of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they did all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.24 But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land flowing with milk and honey: I am Jehovah your God, who hath separated you from the peoples.25 Ye shall therefore make a distinction between the clean beast and the unclean, and between the unclean fowl and the clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by bird, or by anything wherewith the ground teemeth, which I have separated from you as unclean.26 And ye shall be holy unto me: for I, Jehovah, am holy, and have set you apart from the peoples, that ye should be mine.

27 A man also or a woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones; their blood shall be upon them.

3 Mosebok 20

Herren vil straffe synd

1 Herren talte til Moses og sa: 2 Du skal si til Israels barn: Om noen av Israels barn eller noen av de fremmede som bor i Israel, gir noen av sine barn fra seg til Molok, han skal dø. Folket i landet skal steine ham. s3 Jeg vil sette mitt åsyn mot den mannen og utrydde ham av hans folk fordi han har gitt sitt barn fra seg til Molok og gjort min helligdom uren og vanhelliget mitt hellige navn. 4 Om folket i landet lukker øynene til og ikke straffer en slik mann med døden når han gir sitt barn fra seg til Molok, 5 da vil jeg sette mitt åsyn mot denne mannen og hans slekt. Ham og alle dem som følger ham i å drive hor med Molok, vil jeg utrydde av deres folk.

7 Dere skal hellige dere og være hellige, for jeg er Herren deres Gud. s8 Dere skal ta vare på mine lover og holde dem. Jeg er Herren, som helliger dere. s

9 Hver den som forbanner sin far eller sin mor, skal dø. Sin far og sin mor har han bannet, hans blod være over ham! s

10 Når en mann bryter ekteskapet med en annen manns hustru - med sin nestes hustru, da skal de begge dø, både mannen og kvinnen som har brutt ekteskapet. ss11 Når en mann har samleie med sin fars hustru, har han avdekket sin fars nakenhet. De skal begge dø. Deres blod være over dem! s12 Når en mann har samleie med sin svigerdatter, skal de begge dø. De har gjort en motbydelig gjerning. Deres blod være over dem! s13 Når en mann ligger hos en annen mann, som en ligger hos en kvinne, da har de begge gjort en avskyelig gjerning. De skal dø. Deres blod være over dem! s14 Når en mann tar både mor og datter til ekte, da er det skammelig ferd. Både han og kvinnene skal brennes med ild. Slik skam skal ikke finnes blant dere. s15 En mann som har kjønnslig omgang med et dyr, skal dø, og dyret skal dere drepe. s16 Når en kvinne går til et dyr og har kjønnslig omgang med det, da skal du slå i hjel både kvinnen og dyret. De skal dø, deres blod være over dem! 17 Når en mann tar til ekte sin søster, sin fars eller sin mors datter, og han ser hennes nakenhet, og hun ser hans nakenhet, da er det skammelig ferd. De skal utryddes for sitt folks øyne. Han har avdekket sin søsters nakenhet, han skal lide for sin misgjerning. s18 Når en mann ligger hos en kvinne som har sin månedlige svakhet, og blotter henne, da har han avdekket hennes kilde. Og hun har avdekket sitt blods kilde. De skal begge utryddes av sitt folk. s19 Din mors eller din fars søsters nakenhet skal du ikke blotte. Den som gjør det, blotter sin nærmeste slekt. De fører skyld over seg. s20 Når en mann ligger hos sin onkels hustru, har han blottet sin onkels nakenhet. De fører skyld over seg, de skal dø barnløse. s21 Når en mann tar sin brors hustru, da er det urenhet. Han har blottet sin brors nakenhet. De skal være barnløse. s

22 Dere skal ta vare på alle mine lover og alle mine bud og holde dem, for at ikke landet skal spy dere ut, det landet som jeg fører dere til og vil la dere bo i. s23 Dere skal ikke følge de folks skikker som jeg driver ut for dere. For alt dette har de gjort, og jeg fikk avsky for dem. 24 Jeg sa til dere: Dere skal ta deres land i eie! Jeg vil gi dere landet til eiendom, et land som flyter med melk og honning. Jeg er Herren deres Gud, som har skilt dere ut fra folkene. s25 Derfor skal dere skille mellom rene dyr og urene og mellom urene fugler og rene, og ikke gjøre dere selv motbydelige ved å ete de firføtte dyr eller de fugler eller det kryp på jorden som jeg har skilt ut for dere, for at dere skal holde dem for urene. s26 Dere skal være hellige for meg, for jeg, Herren, er hellig. Og jeg har skilt dere ut fra folkene, for at dere skal høre meg til. s

27 Når det i en mann eller en kvinne er en dødningemanerånd eller en spådomsånd, da skal de dø. De skal steines. Deres blod være over dem. s
