Obsolete and Outdated
"What is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear." This could be the motto of so many of our churches and so many of our methodologies within the church. We hold on to traditions, methods, events, property, and media long after they have become obsolete and outdated. By so doing, we run the risk of becoming irrelevant to the people we are trying to reach. And the moment we become irrelevant to those people, we are only a step away from disappearing. We don't always have to have the coolest new toys to reach people. In fact, some tried and true things should be a part of our repertoire for impacting culture. But we need to know when to let go of some things as well.
