SIN

"Stop Sinning or something worse may happen to you."(John 5:14)

There are many verses that warns us of the great dangers of sin; you only have to read one verse of the Old Testament books to understand the full scale and consequences of Sin.

So it comes as absolutely no suprise at all when Sin is summed up simply as "death" because supernaturally that what it is. Sin is the opposite of life. You only have to look at its characteristics and sinful spirit to know that there is absolutely no life in Sin at all.

"The acts of the Sinful nature are obvious:sexual immorality, impurity(not pure) and debauchery(bad sexual behaviour,drunkeness,drug abuse-Cambridge dictionary.2011), idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord(argumentitive and not sharing opinions-Cambridge dictionary.2011), jealousy,fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions(arguments and disagreements in a group-Cambridge dictionary.2011), factions(a group within a larger group; especially a group with different ideas from the main group-Cambridge dictionary.2011)and envy; drunkeness, orgies, and the like." (Galatians 5:19-21)

Sin is separation from God. And since God is Life("I am the way, the truth and Life."John 14:6)then separation from him equals death; the opposite of life. Sin is disobedience of God(Sin entered the Human gene when Adam and Eve first sinned.Genesis 3)
Sin is independence from God;SELF+SIN=SELFISH.
Sin is spiritual death that can lead to physical death.

"For the wages of Sin is death."(Romans 6:23)
I used to read this verse and laugh; thinking i was the smarter one who had figured out the loop-hole that i can sin and not drop-dead immediately after. So i sinned; a little at first-a white lie here and there; and then i sinned more and more; greater sin i am too ashamed to write here. All the while i was completely oblivious to the sinful nature i was creating within. Before i knew it, i had done every act of the sinful nature described in Galatians 5:19-21. And still i was physically alive-but i had stopped reading my bible, praying and praising; i even missed church services=Separation from God.But as far as i was aware, my acts of sinful nature were just 'normal' and i'm just 'being normal' like everyone else-lieing, cheating, sexually active, cheating, selfish, hatred, envy, wild lifestyles i.e. smoking, drinking, drugs, abusive relationships and the list goes on....=Supernatural death.
So when i found myself struggling with depression; unable to go through a day without weeping in hopelessness and insecurities; i knew there was only ONE PERSON to get my life and Peace back. The source of all LIFE: GOD
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish(to die) but have eternal life."(John 3:16)

I think we christians can so many times hide under grace and decieve ourselves so greatly with the excuse that "well God will forgive me anyway, so i might as well" or "I can stop and repent anytime i want."

Paul explains heart-breakingly that using Grace as an excuse to sin is like "crucifying the son o God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace."(Hebrews 6:6)

Moreover, you will suffer the damage and natural consequences of that particular sin. You don't need me to explain the pain and anguish we inflict on ourselves and others as a result of our sinful acts. As Paul asked in Romans 6:15 "Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace?"

Sin is dangerous. Sin is death. Sin is not to be messed with-you cant taste Sin and expect to return to goodness without consequences and personal wounds. Sin is so dangerous, the Holy Spirit does not tell us to stay in Sin and fight Sin; He tells us to "flee."

"Flee from Sexual Immorality."(1 Corinthians 6:18)

"YOU, man(and woman) of God, flee from all this(from all acts of sinful nature) and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness."(1 Timothy 6:11)

"Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace..."(2 Timothy 2:22)

It means RUN; literally put on your spiritual NIKE's and RUN to God! RUN because God knows that saying no to YOURSELF is the most difficult as we are naturally selfish; a DNA we have inheritted from our ancestors Adam and Eve. As Paul explains, "the good i want to do, i do not do but rather the evil i dont want to do, I DO."(Romans 7:14-25).

Fleeing or Running away from Sin in this context is not
a sign of your weakness or spiritual weakness. The devil will decieve you and challenge your spiritual ability by encouraging you to stay in the sinful situation to see how you can overcome that sin; using Bible verses like 'cmon, "you are more than a conqueror" or "You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you."Believe me, I've fallen for this trick many times and the devil is a liar! "the father of all lies and no truth can come from him."(John 8:44)This is why it is so important to read your bible and know the truth. Paul describes the Bible as the "sword to distinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one."(Ephesians 6:12)

Brothers and sisters, dont let the devil decieve you into believing you can dip in and out of sin anytime you like; because believe me, you might not survive the next consequences as a result of your acts of sin. As Jesus explained to the man he healed at Bethesda,
"Stop Sinning or something worse may happen to you."(John 5:14).
Glory be to Jesus, for his grace, mercy and compassion on our weakness; we dont need to RUN away from our sinful desires in our own strength, ideas or abilities. For Jesus, having become human himself, understands how impossibly difficult it is for us to say NO to our Sinful desires.(Romans 7:14-25)For even Jesus himself, was tempted and won his victory with glorious splendor.

"Thanks be to God; through Jesus Christ our Lord";(Romans 7:25) He has shown us how we can say NO like Jesus said NO:

Ephesians 6:10-18

1. Belt of truth-the word of God; the Bible. When Jesus was tempted in the desert by the devil; He responded to every temptation with the words of God in the Bible; starting every sentence with "It is written"(Luke 4:1-13) READ YOUR BIBLE DAILY.

2. Breastplate of righteousness-Jesus Christ knows, understands and believe in your salvation. You need to know, understand and believe that Jesus Christ lives inside of you through the Holy Spirit. This is the foundation of your faith."You are not controlled by the sinful nature but by the Spirit of God,...who lives in you."(Romans 8:9-11) FELLOWSHIP WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT DAILY.

3.Take up the shield of Faith-Believe and Trust God that he is with you through in every situation, circumstances, temptation and every sinful desire. Jesus said that "if you have faith as small as a mustard seed; you can tell a mountain to move and it will move."(Matthew 17:20).Now a mustard seed is really small so you get a sense of how powerful faith is. Now Jesus was speaking literally at that time and now metaphorically because he foresaw the great many mountains of problems and sinful issues we would need faith to conquer. Speak to your mountain! Say to your mountain NOW:
"The Old me is dead and buried with Christ. I am resurrected with Christ NOW. I am a new being. I am a new Person and living in Christ Jesus my Lord and Saviour. I have a new master and follower. So----------(say the name of that sin: sex, drugs, smoking, drinking, depression, hate, anger, etc etc.) I am no longer your slave. You have no power over me any longer! I am FREE and redeemed in Christ Jesus, who died on the cross to set me free from every sin and temptation.
I CLAIM MY FREEDOM NOW! In Jesus name,Amen.

4.And pray in the Spirit on all occasions-Pray. Praying is simply talking to God. He is your father and friend. When you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour; you automatically entered into a relationship with God as your Father("Now if we are children, then we are heirs (family); heirs of God and co-heirs(brothers and sisters) with Christ,"(Romans 8:17).
And as we all know and have experienced, Communication is key in any relationship. Can you imagine not talking to your earthly best friends for a long time?

Now, one of the excuse Christians use for not praying is that "Well, If God already knows what i want; why do i need to ask him?" Because he is not a puppet master or a psychic butler. He is a loving Father who cares about your Will; opinions and essentially your input into your own life journey. He wants you to tell him specifically; with all the personal details and your uniqueness included. He cares about all the little details that would make your request just perfect for you. He cares about your emotional and mental wellbeing so he wants you to express yourself openly, honestly and genuinely to him; because the truth is He is the only ONE who can help and love you just the way you need to be loved.

"He is the way, the truth and the life"(John 14:6)
