Just a touch, Matthew 9:20-22, The Gospels in 30 days, day 7
Scripture: Matthew 9:20-22 MSG
Just then a woman who had hemorrhaged for twelve years slipped in from behind and lightly touched his robe. She was thinking to herself, "If I can just put a finger on his robe, I'll get well." Jesus turned-caught her at it. Then he reassured her: "Courage, daughter. You took a risk of faith, and now you're well." The woman was well from then on.
Observation: This woman had been bleeding for 12 years! Wow! But she believed if she could just touch the hem of his garment, she'd be made well. So she battled through the crowd to touch him, and she was healed. Can you imagine the joy she must have felt?
Application: do you believe Jesus can take away what ails you? He may not be right in front in you for you to touch, but do you believe you can stop where you are right now and 'touch' him through prayer? You can!
Prayer: Father I thank you for this morning, and I thank you for Your word. Thank You for making me more and more familiar with the scriptures, recognizing key points from past readings and sermons I have heard. Thank You for the health of my family and for Your continued protection from harm. In Jesus' name, Amen.
