I just love the book of Ecclesiastes. As far as books of the bible go, Ecclesiastes perhaps has some of the most applicable philosophical ideas. What really intrigues me is that Christian Existentialism seems to run through this book, a good good several thousand years prior to the philosophy's inception.
Ecclesiastes is a book that has to be read completely through. It's a journey, perhaps even a struggle, where a man grapples with the meaningless nature of his existence, and finds the only escape in his devotion to God. It's a journey that I think is very timely, even to this very day.
