God's Provision versus Man's Pleasure
All the days in the wilderness, the Israelites had food (manna) supernaturally provided for them from heaven. Once they left the desert and entered the promised land. they ate of it's food. From then on their food provision came from the blessing of the land.
The supernatural provision stopped when they partook of the supernatural promise. Wildernesses often appear void of God and Promised lands often appear as God's habitation.
However, we see that God did the supernatural acts of provision in the desert, yet in the promised land the food was provided naturally.
We should not mistake the places of God's dwelling based on appearances. Deserts don't feel good but lavish living does. We might be fooled into thinking that the ease of life means more of God while simple manna means separation from God.
Even though God did not leave them in the promised land, it should be noted that His presence was ever strong in the desert experience.
When we feel as if we are in the desert, we should remember that was were supernatural encounters occurred. Instead of looking to the time of ease as an indicator of God's pleasure, let's look at the supernatural, sustaining power in the moment as God's treasure.
