Kindness and Forgiveness
Kindness is not all frilly, give-a-daisy-away kindness. Many times, kindness can be accomplished in the roughness of circumstances, it's just not recognized. It can often be overlooked, ignored, or even misunderstood. If it isn't actually pushing a flower under your nose, you might not even see it.
Forgiveness, on the other hand, is always very noticeable. If you've been wronged, it takes an act of the will to forgive. If you're the one who needs to be forgiven, it's an act of bravery to ask for it. Forgiveness is so hard because it acknowledges sin, and in our world of hypersensitivity, no one wants to be a part of that conversation.
But thank God, Jesus demonstrated kindness on the cross, taking our punishment when he didn't have to. Thanks to God for the forgiveness that was extendsed to us because of it. Now, swallow your pride and accept it.
