repent or resign
When God pronounced His initial judgment upon Cain, Cain's response was not confession and repentance. Instead it was a "woe is me" and "what are you doing God" type of attitude. He didn't recognize and repent of his sin, but resigned himself to pity and blame.
How do you respond to your sin? Is it with confession and repentance? It is only with those type if responses that God can bring healing and restoration. God disciplines those whom He loves, and He loves those He wants to restore.
Allow God to reveal your sin. Respond with confession and repentance. Experience God's forgiveness and cleansing. Accept God's restoration. It is only then that we live in true freedom.
