Saints and Rosaries...

The idol Baalberith, which the Jews worshipped after the death of Gideon, was identical with Baal-zebub, "the ba'al of flies."

Jewish tradition states that the Israelites were so addicted to this god that they would carry an image of him wherever they went and they would even take it out and kiss it for luck or blessings.

The Hebrew word "Berit" has to do with making a covenant which is probably why they named the god Baal-berth. They had such a ridiculous devotion to their idol they didn't want to part from it for a second. Whenever we treat an object like this, it's wrong and it doesn't matter how it started. We shouldn't feel the need to carry items for protection like rosaries, images of the "Saints" or anything else for that matter. GOD ALONE is sufficient and to give weight to anything else is showing a lack of faith in Him.
