The EPITOME of a Leader's Growth

Selflessness... Moses started off as selfish, doing his own will-- thinking that he should have been regarded highly after he killed the Egyptian soldier. He was a coward, who ran away after being found out to be a murderer. He was a stutter overflowing with excuses when Go called him to lead HIS people. He was tired when others had to hold his arms up. He was frustrated on so many occasions with the people of God. And here, at the end of the line, near death, GOD THE FATHER SHOWS MOSES what could have been his. WOW. WOW. WOW. And the final blow comes when God says, "after you see this, you will join your ancestors in DEATH. You will not enter."

How would you respond to that? I tell you how I would. My gut reaction would be, REALLY? After all that I HAVE DONE? BEEN THROUGH? Don't I DESERVE to go in? Yet, and yet... This man who has been through so much in growth shows the true goal of a life lived for the FATHER-- selflessness and total abandonment of one's own will.

Moses prays, "God, replace me with someone who will lead Your people to victory. Don't let Your people be like sheep without a shepherd."

My GOD-- the selflessness. the total ABANDONMENT of self will. The total release to YOUR WILL. The complete LOVE FOR YOUR PEOPLE. The EPITOME of what You want me to reach.

I pray, as I go through my own desert experiences. As I lead Your people. As I learn from frustrations, mistakes, victories, good times and bad times... I pray that I get to a place where I don't question Your will. That My will is whittled down to non-existent. That I become selfless. Even typing this prayer, I feel like I am 40 years plus away from even seeing that goal in the horizon. But that doesn't stop me from giving all of me entirely to YOU. My WILL, my heart, my strength, my ideas, my preconceived notions, my mind, my brain, hands, my intentions, my ministry, my family, my everything GOD. Yours. Yours. Yours.
