This Week in Review

Holy Week is the most important week in the Christian faith. 4 events to highlight for us to never forget.

John 13:15. Book of John speaks of it to us as an example.

1. John 13:34. Jesus gave us a new commandment that outpaced the previous ten.

Jewish faith presented ten commandments prior to that time in the Old Testament. (Ten Commandments Exodus 20:1-17)

Love one another is new commandment. For example, people who love you wouldn't:

- kill you;
- steal from you
- honor mother and father

Reason Jesus say love because it is an identifiable marker. Jesus said by our "LOVE" people recognize us as a disciple of Jesus (not our looks or testimony)

2. Matthew 26:39, 42. Jesus gave an example to follow HIS will not our own. Jesus wanted to find another way around what he HAD to do. ("let this cup pass from me")

We have been plenty of situations where we want to do the opposite of what God wants us to do.

3. Luke 23:32-34. Jesus gives us an example of not to give people power over us.

Jesus forgave those for killing him while they were killing him.

Forgiveness was not something to be prayed over or contemplated on. We can decide to forgive others NOW.

4. Luke 23:44-46. No matter how dark, God has the last word. In the end WE WIN!
