Noah from hero to zero
What a bizarre verse in the context of the Noah story. First he was found to be the only righteous man in God's sight. Then God saved him and his family. He made the sacrifice that was pleasing to God and then God made the covenant with him and entrusted everything to Him(9:3). What a responsibility? and Noah blew it!?
How did a righteous man like Noah become sinful again?
Ah...grapes....apples...the forbidden fruit?
That first sin in the past is haunting us again and a painful reminder of who we are?
So what can we learn from this story? It does not matter how righteous you are or were...even in God's sight...we are still vulnerable to the claws of sin. We are not immune! Let us walk in humbleness knowing that any minute we can fall into sin...let us hold on to every little spiritual inclination that we may have...or else we will go down.
