Opportunity - The Spirit At Work
We are to let patience have a place so that it may do the good work in our lives. This verse speaks to a spiritual mindset of "doing good". Our (fleshly) desire is to assist the Lord instead of waiting on him for an "opportunity" and with patience to do good. Verse 5 speaks "for every man SHALL bear his own burden. The labor is when we are doing good of our own selves(in the flesh), causing us to be weary in well doing. Verse 9 says Be not weary in well doing:
The lord seeks "opportunity" for our flesh to get out of the way and allow our spirit to communicate The Word and get in place, it is then that we "do good unto all men, especially to them who are of the household of the faith." This provides(1) a witness and (2) strengthening of the spiritual body and (3) Strengthening of the body of Christ- His Church.
We who are spiritualare to restore the brethren - them who are of the household of faith.
