I don't know if there is a better story in the Bible then that of Nehemiah. Here he is leading the people to rebuild the broken down walls of Jerusalem and they start to come up against opposition. They start being threatened because the people around them did not like what they were doing. However, Nehemiah being the great leader that he is does not stop the work but creates a battle plan and trust that the Lord is going to fight for them.
We can learn a lot from Nehemiah. When we start following the Lord's plan and we are living in his will we will face persecution. There will be people in our lives that may say "Thats Stupid" or "You're Weird" or "That doesn't make sense." However, we know that if we are serving the God of Heaven that he will fight our battles for us. He will protect us. Sometimes we might have to change the method we do things, we might have to build with one hand and fight with a sword in the other hand. But we can be assured that if we are in the Lord's will than we will be eternally protected.
