So here we see the Holy Spirit remove Samsons bonds only so He can slaughter 1000 people, with a donkey mouth piece. WTF! No man alone could ever kill 1000, so we know the Spirit of God was working in Samson not just to loose the bonds, but also to ensure his safety.

Also it is good to note that Samson was not a righteous man, as far as morality goes, but God had consecrated him before he was born, and set him apart, not by works of righteousness, but mercy and grace despite Samsons sin.

Samson is a great story of God's love, protection, and favor towards those whom He predestines, before birth to be His own. I am just like Samson, imoral, and wicked often using the gifts God has given me in way which are not God glorifying, and yet God takes what is crooked and straightens it for His purpose, good and glory.

I am so thankful for the person and work of Jesus. The atonement has given me life and the Holy Spirit has been given to empower me to stop turning to death as the answer. What a fortunate people we are. Epic grace for an average man.
