As I reflected upon the Model Prayer this morning, I realized that the elements in this passage are things Jesus actually prayed for during his ministry for himself or others.

Hallowed be your name-- John 17:1-2

Kingdom come/will be done-- Matthew 26:36-45 in the garden

Daily Bread-- Blessing of the bread before feeding 5K and at the Lord's supper -- Matthew 15:36, 26:26-27

Forgive us-- Father forgive them, for they know not what they do-- Luke 23:34

Do not bring us into temptation-- Luke 22:31 for Peter.

This realization has helped me to see the Lord's Prayer in a totally different way.
