Rules or People

Scripture:
27 Then he said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

Observations:
Jesus was speaking to the religious leaders because they were upset at the disciples for "breaking the Sabbath." The religious leaders saw them taking grain and rebuked them
Jesus explained to them that it was not about the rules, it was about the people. He explained that rules were put into place to meet the needs of the people, and not the other way around.

Application:
To many times we get caught up in the "rules" that we miss the reason they were created. Tules and guidelines are put into place to help and protect us. We falter when we focus so heavily on the rules that we lose focus of the people.
