Overthrowing Dagon

 love how God uses Samson to over through the demon god dagon. It is amazing to see how God uses Samson despite his arrogance, rebellion, and lust. 

Delilah was so obviously treasonous and yet He just couldn't see it. Reminds me of how we are so blessed with gifts from our Lord and go on abusing them and using them for selfish gain. In the end we find something, or someone to worship other than Jesus. We put down our God given gifts an act of worship to our false god.
Then God grants us repentance and we see clearly and finally we go to Him and He makes straight our crookedness. I love that Christ redeems men like Samson as I am not far from those same kind of mistakes in this idolatrous heart of mine. It is interesting that even redemption in this case looks like death, and destruction. 

Prayer:
Thank you Holy Spirit for leading me to repentance, and turning my affections towards you the one true God, before my eyes have been completely gauged out. Thank you that one day I will be fully sanctified and made like you Jesus, and in death I to will be resurrected, and sin will reign no more, as I will have a new heavenly body in which the curse will not prevail! Thank you for giving us stories like this in which I can see my own folly and turn to you.
