Bringing People Into Community
This is what the work of redemption and reconciliation is all about. Have you ever heard of a jailer and prisoners dinning together on the night of an escape? The jailer also washed the wounds of the disciples after he was saved.
In this one verse we see the future reality of God's kingdom. In Christ there is neither slave nor free. There is neither Jailer nor prisoner. All are one in Christ.
Do our churches look like this? Bringing people together from completely opposite walks of life? Doing the work of redemption and reconciliation one relationship at a time?
I pray they do.
