Be Strong & Courageous!
9 This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." (NLT)
9 Haven’t I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don’t be timid; don’t get discouraged. God, your God, is with you every step you take.” (The Message)
I love this verse & have read it many many times and just when I read it and think that I really understand its meaning, its then that I realize that I don't have a clue!! But who better an example of strength & courage than Joshua -- a man who led millions of people into the promise land. And sometimes I think my problems are so big and can't be handled by God. God is so much bigger than my problems & fears & circumstances. I want to be able to walk out the words of this verse in truth, not just quote it to someone or highlight it in my Bible and then go back to being afraid and worrying & fearing.
I think the other reality that I don't sometimes grasp is that God is with me WHEREVER I go. I should rejoice in this because I know that I'm NOT alone. Father, forgive me for forgetting this fact that I'm not alone and that you are with me. I know that in all of this transition, Lord I need you to help me to be discerning to You and your voice and also to be discerning and sensitive to Tracey. Father, help me to have the courage and strength to be the man you've called me to be: Your son, a leader, a fiance (soon-to-be husband), and so much more. I know that You are with me. Thank you for sending this verse my way today. In Jesus Name, Amen.
