Now this is amazing! We want to be like other nations is their cry. But how we forget God. The space between Now and Then is always the challenge to remember God.
Deuteronomy God shows up and encourages the Israelites to follow Him. His challenge included the reality that God was going to come close to the people of God ssc a special and unique people- his choosing of Israel had nothing to do with their size or abilities. No he chose them because he wanted to and wants to use this people to spread the fame if his name.
There has never been nor will there ever be a NATION like Israel. Today God has a people that he calls his own...We should remember ALL that God has done and all that God will do.
He dealt with the Egyptians and the funny thing is the Philistines remembered that and quickly acted in belief that God was special and sent the Ark away, but only after Dagon' hands and feet were severed. Dagon worships God
