A great reminder that God's word alone stands for us as the guide. All prophecy is contained in scripture, and nothing can be added to it. The instruction to pay attention to God's Word like a lamp shining in a dark place is a great illustration. Have you ever been in a room when the power when out at night and it is completely dark? When you light the first candle, it is virtually impossible not to look at the light. With God's Word, it is the focal point that we need to center our gaze on and rely on to show us the way in our dark world.
