Life Lessons From Romans

Vs. 6 I am one of the Gentiles who is called to belong to Jesus.
His salvation is to everyone who believes and is accomplished from start to finish by FAITH ALONE! My righteousness has nothing to do with it, (which will be a common theme throughout Romans). As Isaiah says in 64:6 We’re all sin-infected, sin-contaminated.
Our best efforts are grease-stained rags.
We dry up like autumn leaves—
sin-dried, we’re blown off by the wind. (Message)

Chapter 2 tells us we cannot stand in judgement of others and just assume we are ok. Our knowledge of right and wrong alone is not enough, it must be applied.
According to vs. 29 a true Jew is not one who's heart is right with God, by simply obeying the law, but rather one who is changed in their heart by the spirit of God. We must be Born of the Spirit through the blood of Jesus Christ our Lord.
This change fulfills our need for approval and acceptance, not from man but from God.
I contend that this is the same as our ability to love. We love because He first loved us, 1 John 4:19. Without embracing the praise, acceptance and approval from God, which has been sealed by the new birth of the Spirit, all praise, acceptance and approval we seek from others will fall short. This causes us to be unfulfilled and sets us on an endless search for such approval through acts of performance.
Until you truly embrace the reality that, "If God is for you (and He is), then who can stand against you, (through rejection or disapproval).
Thank you Father for accepting ME...let that forever more be my security!
