Breaking Down Walls

Christ is the ultimate Peacemaker. This morning, as I write President Obama is giving a speech talking about his Nobel Peace Prize win. It is ironic to me that a man can be given an award now before having accomplished anything, in this instance, actually creating or accomplishing peace.

Jesus gave his life on the cross and in the process tore down the wall between Jews and Gentiles and how they were able to approach God. In the Old Testament Jews had access to God only after ceremonial tasks were accomplished through a Priest. After Christ gave His life for our sin, He became the ultimate Creator of peace between man and God, uniting Jews and Gentiles alike through the power of the Holy Spirit.
