Rebuke them sharply

When told to rebuke sharply I have visions of belittling people and giving them "what for" because they were out of line. There's a part of me that likes the idea of "getting back" at Christians who use Christ's gospel for their own selfish gain.

The point here is not pointing out the persons flaw. Rather we should have a vested interest in the persons soul. We should want to see them live a holy life so that my may experience God's fullness. This means we should approach it in love not in pride.

Love vs pride
Helping them towards God vs Telling them off
Taking interest in their walk vs comparing their walk to yours

It's a heart issue.
