Verse 3 says that a man who builds a house receives more honour than the house itself. Verse 6 says that we are his house.
Jesus said, "I will build my church".
What are the things that honour God? Do we honour him with our buildings & services, or do they bring honour to us?
Does God see these things as honouring? Are they as important to him as they are to us? Does he see other things as being of greater value, or of more importance; more honourable; things like how we love each other, how we relate to people, how we treat the poor & needy etc.?
Man may look at the outward, but he looks at the heart. We must be careful that we don't honour him with our lips, while our heart is far from him.
Our whole lives are to be lived for his glory, honour & praise. This means that our lives are to reflect his character, his nature. This is what honours God.
