The Abundance

If we look at this verse and the next, we can see that the abudance of blessings has the power to produce conviction: "I am a sinful man."

I guess that's how grace works. When grace abounds, the effect is not an abuse of grace like we thought -- but abundance from Him gives power to conviction -- and ultimately, repentance.

There is a change of mindset (metanoia) from a blessing. Simon no longer called Jesus as rabbi, but as Lord.

Instead of telling everyone about the abundant blessing to his friends, Simon instead bow down before Jesus and declare the grace of God. Verse 11 also said that instead of selling the fish and enjoying the blessings, they left them all and followed Jesus! Unthinkable blessing deserves unthinkable response. It might start off with blessings, but it doesn't have to end there.
