Solomon was blessed with material wealth and wisdom by God like no other. The Bible does not record Solomon ever having an advisor nor Him seeking advice from God. He developed blindspots of pride and lust because he was accountable to no one on earth nor in heaven. He relied on His gifting not the Gift Giver. These blindspots would lead to further sin - idolatry - and cause the split of the kingdom. The Bible does not record Solomon humbling himself and repenting of his idolatry.
One of the reasons that we need to fellowship is for the encouragement and sharpening of each other. Proverbs says that iron sharpens iron and a many-stranded cord is not easily broken. An accountability partner and/or mentor is essential for your growth. They can help heal you from heart wounds when you confide to them and can illuminate the blindspots in your life that could cause you to stumble and fall. Lone ranger Christianity doesn't work.
