More Than Words
To say we love God is easy, mere words. But Jesus says that to love God means we obey God. In other words, we live according to His ways not our own. Obedience is not in style, it never is. It's easier to rebel, do what we want, follow the trends, media, the crowds.
You say you love God? How are you doing with your money? Does it reflect obedience to God? How about your time, your mind, does your mind obey God? Do you do things your way at work or do you do it God's way.
And how do you know if you're obeying God? Is it living a perfect life? Hardly...Obedience starts with keeping his greatest commandments. Love God and Love Others.
Here's an obedience check list
1. Are you Loving God above all else? Consumerism, self-focus, cell phones and Facebook, your children, your work or job? If not, start there
2. Are you Loving Others like you love yourself? Your neighbors, people at work, those in jail, people you don't like, your enemies? If not, choose one person you can love today in a tangible way
Love is more than words, it's action and obedience. Let's ask God he helps us to obey him today.
