How Low Did He Go
Hebrews 2:9 NASB
But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.
Man when I read this my heart is just in shock. To be reminded of what it is my savior went through. Man Jesus had it made. He created OUR world while living in a far more greater one. A world so great or minds can't fathom it. Stepping down into this garbage. It says here that He made himself lower than the angels. Man the angels are higher than we are. And He is higher than the angels! So He takes one step down He's at angel status He takes another step down He's at human status. Now get this He takes ANOTHER step down at human status and makes himself a lowly human. He is NOT this rich guy, and He's definitely not everybody's favorite person. He is hated and mocked amongst some. And then He goes down some more to the lowest a human could become in the culture of the jewish society. He turns to His disciples and makes himself a bond-servant. The very lowest of the low in the israelites chain of command, if you will. Serving them washing their feet showing the extent of His love. AND HE GOES LOWER! Suffering a death for a people that hated Him. Saying "Father forgive them!" Look at how many steps Jesus came down. Man when I think about that I think, man Jesus you could've just met me where I'm at, but NO He went all the way. He tasted death for me! And I can just feel Him "Lyle I didn't have to, but I so wanted because I so wanted YOU!" Man do you realize this! This love that came ALL the way down here for me, for YOU! Sometimes I can look OVER that, and I hate that so much. I want to forever let this strike me and amaze me because it is absolutely an astonishing thing.
