Observation: Through this chapter there is a recurring pattern that shows what action one must take in order to build the kind of life that one would like. It covers a whole bunch of do's & don'ts. Who would not like a life that looks like this?
V2 Long Life & Prosperity
V4 Favour with God & Man
V6 Straight Paths in Life
V8 Health to Body & Nourishment to Bones
V10 Barns filled to overflowing & Vats brimming over with New Wine!!
V12 Loved & Delighted in by God as our Father
V 17-18 Supernatural Blessing from the Tree of Life, which include pleasant ways & paths of peace.
V23-25 You will go your way in safety, your foot will never stumble, you will not be afraid, your sleep will be sweet, no fear of disaster or ruin that overtakes the wicked,
V26 With God as our confidence he will keep us from walking into a snare.
When you look at this list it's really what all of humanity is desiring to attain. But most people come up empty ever time. Now all you have to do if you want this outcome for your life is to apply the in between verses to your life and then the cause and effect law of God will bring it to pass.
At this point in time wisdom then gives us a bunch of dont's that we need to be careful of as having these in your heart can break the flow of blessing.
V27-31 Do Not - withhold good from people who deserve it, provide for you neighbours needs immediatly, don't not harm your neighbour, do not falsly accuse someone, don't envy the violant man or choose any of his ways.
Application: Exactly - you have to consistently apply the in between verses to your life which will ignite the right cause to get the right effect. Then we must rid our hearts of any wrong attitudes that may be there. It is yours and my choice to live how we wish, however if we don't like the effect our life is having perhaps we should look at what principles we are running our life. God is not mocked, he is not your boss or teacher at school he sees all and rewards all accordingly and V37 really sums it up. The Lord's curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous. Apply the verses in between and life will go well!
Prayer: Father help me to live a blessed life to model and inspire others to do the same. Help me to teach our people how to become the home of the righteous to instil your blessing.
