Israel Is Older Brother To The Prodigal Gentiles

I see some possible ties between the Israelites and the Gentiles tying into the parable told by Jesus of the prodigal son. Israel being the older son... made jealous by the return and acceptance of the younger prodigal son, or the Gentiles. Romans 11:11 - "... salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious." Just a quick observation...
