Am I really the temple of the Living GOD?
"For we are the temple of the living God; even as God said, I will dwell in and with and among them and will walk in, with, among them, and I will be their God and they shall be My people."
This is written to the Corinthian church so applies corporately but doesn't it apply to me individually also? If it does, what is the implication and how should I act and think and feel about this relationship?
If I am God's temple isn't there a responsibility to keep myself as pure and clean and separate (holy) as I can while seeking the help of the Spirit where I am weak? I talk a good game but how much is my heart truly in it to live up to this awesome responsibility and privilege?
My prayer for me and my family and my local community of believers is to be humbled and empowered by this amazing gift and promise. God says He walks among us and dwells with and in us. May we always have a clear sense of His presence. There is comfort here despite circumstances - I am the possession of God, His temple and He dwells with me. Focusing on that dims the struggles and impulses of this life and gives me peace and joy which cannot be removed.
