Proverbs 19:23
The fear of the Lord leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied; he will not be visited by harm.
Fear is not always a bad thing. If you see a bee on your hand fear releases super human speed to that hand. A bear is running towards you, all of a sudden your inside a locked truck in less then a second. Sudden fear can be great for you. Afraid of a dream that is in your heart is not so good. The fear of the Lord that leads to life is a deep respect for God. Being in fear of the Lord is simply filtering every thought, action, worry, and dream through God's Word and God's voice.
With three kids on one coming this month rest is not a luxury I get that much. My wife and the mother of my children gets even less. Just last Sunday after church there was a window of time that a nap was needed. I laid down for one hour, my bride amazingly let me sleep two! (She is the best.) Yet even with the nap my eyes were so heavy. I got to rest but it was not rest satisfied. It makes me think of how we can get so full of our lives that rest eludes us. It might sound funny, but I think God cares so much about us that He even cares about our rest. That rest can produce life. I have a hard time living that out. This week I am focusing on filtering my thoughts, action, and plans through God's voice and His Word. What I am discovering is more energy and clarity.
Thank you Lord for the ability to connect with You. With the Word I can read Your voice daily. With worship I can feel your presence continually. With Your voice I can be led through life. Praise Your goodness! Give my bride strength in the last days of her pregnancy. I can't wait to meet #4! Lead me to lead my kids with love and compassion. I know my kids will never think I know everything I just want them to know love. I lift up Hope to you, may this season of building community be full of you.
