Be Bold!

Scripture: Three days later the Israelite officers went through the camp, giving these instructions to the people: “When you see the Levitical priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord your God, move out from your positions and follow them. Since you have never traveled this way before, they will guide you. Stay about a half mile behind them, keeping a clear distance between you and the Ark. Make sure you don’t come any closer.”

Observation: The people were given clear instructions to follow the Arc, and that would show them the way to go. They were to always keep the Arc in sight so they would know they were going the right way. The Arc was the holiest object they possessed, so they trusted that wherever it went, they could follow. They had never been to where they were going, so I’m sure they were afraid, but keeping the Arc in sight they knew God was right there guiding them. They could be bold. They could be brave!

Application: Are you at a point in your life when you need to be bold? Are you entering a place you have never been to before? Be brave! If God is leading you, you don’t have to worry about the acceptance of others. God is in the lead, and as long as you always keep your eyes focused on Him and His plan for Your life, you can keep moving forward. Sure, you’re going to be afraid, being bold doesn’t mean you’re not going to be scared or have a little fear. Being bold means you can keep moving forward through your fear. That’s the power of God working in your life! So whatever it is you are dealing with today: a change in circumstances, a new job, a new city, even a new set of responsiblities, as long as your work is God approved, you can move along with confidence!

Prayer: Father I thank You for Your reminder to stay focused on my goals and to make sure they are approved by You. Keep me balanced, Lord, making sure I am taking time out to serve others as I make my way through my life. Thank You for a wonderful week and for keeping my friends and family safe from the storms on Wednesday. Bless the people who are helping with the cleanup process and the people like Dawn who are serving those in need. Place Your arms around Dawn, Lord and give her the strength she needs to do her work for as long as it takes to get the job done. But also give her rest, Lord, as we all know we need rest in order to serve well. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
