Genesis 6: 3-21
A look at stories of Faith throughout the Bible.
God proclaims that He will wipe the human race and all He created from the Earth in 120 years.
Noah found favor with God and God chose to make a covenant with Noah.
Every day Noah got up and was driven to be obedient to build the boat he couldn't yet see or comprehend.
Genesis 6:22- Noah did everything God commanded him.
• God proclaimed that He would destroy the Earth in 120 yrs, but unknown at what point Noah was told to build the ark.
• Either way Noah was obedient for the whole time it took to build the ark.
• Whether it was 1 year or 100 years Noah remained faithful.
• Even though Noah obeyed, but it is possible that Noah felt uncertainty.
• Hebrews 11:7- What drove Noah to continue through the ridicule, the uncertainty...
• BY FAITH: believing that God is in control and is going to make things right.
The struggle for us: God promised Noah a boat, but he never promised us a good life, a marriage, the career of our choice....
• So is it worth carrying the board of obedience.....
• as much as it feels worthless, a waste of time to continue carrying the board of obedience it is NEVER worthless or a waste of time
• God is a God of process. There is a pay off in the process.
• For Noah the pay off was a legacy for his family.
• For us we too our setting a legacy for our family.
• It saves you from disobedience.
• We experience God in a way we could never experience God.
Different boards we carry to pave the way to a relationship with God:
• Purity
• Love
• Respect
• Self-control
If you have dropped the board God has commanded you to carry, you need to pick it back up.. The reward in the end is far greater than the instance gratification.
The board may be difficult to carry, but all we need to do is hold God's hand and let Him lead the way.
We need an Ark in the yard faith to do what God has called us to do.
