Two More Tablets!
We talk about the God of second chances...and He is in fact that and more! Hey Moses - make me another two stones so that i can reestablish my covenant with people who are rebellious and bent toward their own way...once again. Later, the Lord set in motion the levitical priesthood (He had communicated it to Moses on the mt, but before it could be instituted the people sinned) the priests would stand as barriers of protection between God and the people...they would replace Moses when it was time for him to be gone ultimately, for he had over and over again stood between God and man as intercessor and watchman. This is further proof that God intended to bear with these people knowing the condition of their hearts He still faithfully set up a system in which they'd be protected from his wrath...
and then fast forward a few thousand years...and who does God ultimately bring on the scene, but the ultimate advocate and ark of protection - His own Son Jesus! O thank You Father that Jesus came to fulfill the law and save us completely from ourselves and from your wrath! O to be found in Him not having any righteousness of my own...all i have to bring is my stubborn wayward heart that is inredibly and famously prone to wander and err! Thanks God for the ever and eternal Son who keeps me in life! I'd be lost without Him...I'd be lost over and over and over again without Him who keeps me! Two more tablets - what extraordinary words of Grace! O Father in Jesus...keep giving me more and more chances because i am a wanderer and sinner by nature -the fabric of my very being is stained with sin and my own way! By Jesus deliver me and keep me and free me O God. Help me a sinner to circumcise my heart and be stiff necked no more! I love You and want You and need You O God! Don't give up on me for your name sake let the sinner stand and let it be a Testimony to your great power over my great sin!!!!
