It's a simple matter of the heart: deliver the oppressed from the oppressor. Do not yourself be an oppressor. Don't become a bully of the powerless, such as poor immigrants or widows.

It's not enough to avoid criminal activities. God desires that we "execute justice." [v.3, Amp.] Why would I go to the trouble? My motivation is not just to obey by gritting my teeth. I will seek "to execute justice" because I share the heart of God.
