successful failure

I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time. Ecclesiastes 9:11 NLT

We have all met the person who is so good at what they do yet not recognized or rich because of it. The athlete in school, the band or musician that play their hearts out. The teacher or preacher that can speak like no other. It is all God's will and what he permits that allows us to do or have or the success we achieve.

This scripture helps me to realize two things in my life. 1. Whatever it is that I am good at or exceed in, the ability was given to me by God. 2. I may be great at what I do but I can't measure the success of it by this worlds standards.

God thank you for every gift you had given me this life. I can be sure that I do have amazing gifts given by you. I also never have to feel like a failure as long as I don't compare them to this worlds measure of success.
