Luke 1:11-17

2 Parts of John the Baptist life:

1. His Ministry
• Luke 3:3-8
• anointing: is a touch from God in order to fulfill a task for God.
• John's anointing was to be a forerunner of Christ and to preach.
• John preached repentance that brings about a change of heart.
• NO CHANGE NO JESUS.

2. His Motto
• a short saying that defines your life.
• John 3:30- I must decrease so He [Jesus] must increases.
• Matthew 14:3-4 John preaches a message people don't want to hear and is persecuted for telling the truth and showing Herod's sin.
• John didn't shrink to political correctness, he told the people the truth even though it meant he'd be thrown in jail.
• Luke 7:18-23 John sends a question to Jesus and Jesus sends signs and an answer to comfort John that He is the One.
• We can come to God and ask Him questions of why.
• We have to remember that we can't be offended by the way He chooses to answer.
• God knows your heart, He knows your pain and He is not intimidated by your question.
