Preparation and Determination
The LADIES have BOUGHT spices to anoint the body of Jesus. Then SUNDAY MORNING rolls around. So they head to the tomb. On their way they ask: Who will roll the stone away?
So I see two things going on here: PREPARATION... They bought the spices ahead of time. Do we prepare? Do we prepare to give or most beautiful SPICES to God in the form of devotion, song, sacrifices? Or do we wait till we get in church and allow the Praise Leader to PREPARE us? Do we come expecting to encounter God and therefore Prepare ourselves? Or do we wait... see if we will be tickled, entertained and then decide to give Him something-- either our Heart, our mind, an offering, whatever. PREPARATION is important and these LADIES prepared to worship God by anointed the body of JESUS.
The second thing: DETERMINATION... These LADIES knew they were not strong enough to roll the back the big rock. However, they didn't stop in their tracks and turn back around. They kept moving forward with their SPICES in hand. They were determined that they were going to ANOINT HIS BODY. Do we allow obstacles or the mere THOUGHT of obstacles stop us from moving forward? Or do we plow through? Do we PREPARE and then in FAITH move forward knowing somehow, someway God will make a WAY?
I need to PREPARE better and not be Deterred, but have a DETERMINED mind to finish what I started.
