God brings about discipline for the complaints about His provision. The people recognize the situation as a consequence to their sin ... snakes will do that to people. The remedy they come ip with is an eradication of the snakes. Gods plan is different. He uses it as an opportunity of faith. The snake bitten can turn to an object of faith for a remedy. The same today as Jesus spoke in John 3 that the son of man must be lifted up. The snake bitten have the remedy. Though we all would desire the eradication of the snake. He is being used for the purpose of faith in our life.
