Get Centered
This is one of my favorite verses of the Bible. It is also the very center verse of the Bible. Even though most of the original texts didn't have verses, I believe that God knew that we would eventually break it down into chapters and verses. I do not think that this verse being the exact center of the Bible is coincidence! I believe the reason that this verse is the exact center of the Bible is because, God knew that one of the biggest problems with Christians today would be that they do not read His word for themselves, they take a friend's word or a preacher's word for God's word! I believe God is telling us that we need to get away from that kind of thinking, study God's word for ourselves, and let Him speak to us through His word, and be very careful about taking man's word for God's word! This is very important because, if we don't have a good understanding of God's word, then we will be easily led astray. To me, this verse is at the heart of what the Bible teaches.
