Fathers are important. One of the biggest looked over fathers in the bible are often looked over. Joseph was one of the most important men. Without him, the birth of Jesus would not have happened.
Men set the spiritual temperature for your family. If your father is a born-again proper Christian, the children are 75% more likely to follow on.
Joseph always followed through with his decisions (Proverbs 21:5). And thought decisions through.
Joseph also heard from God and carried through his word.
He had courage. He was afraid of what God had asked him to do but he overcame his fears and did what God asked him to do. (Matthew 1:20). It took courage to believe Mary and the fact that he stood by her and didn't care what everyone said.
Joseph also obeyed the word of God. It's one thing to hear the word of God, and it's another to obey it.
One of the most amazing qualities of Joseph was that he was willing to be the father to a child who wasn't his.
