It is so interesting that 16 talks of power but comes on the heels of 15 which speaks of thanksgiving. I think david could come so confidently in the lord because he knew gods goodness so personally...he felt gods faithfulness in the dark times that it made him thankful and confident in gods character when he was facing the worst the world had to throw at him
