Inviting non-believers to Sunday worship

I've heard pastors encourage their flock to invite their un-saved friends to church.

If we're commanded to expel from the church anyone who calls themselves a believer yet does not live as one - then why are we inviting someone who is not a believer and does not act like one to worship with us?  How can an unrepentant sinner offer worship to God?  Why is the addition of another warm body in a building supposed to earn the believer who invited said body a pat on the back?

No - we are called to go out into the world, as an alien living in a foreign place, and serve as Christ's ambassador.  When you step outside those church doors - THAT is your mission field.  Build meaningful relationships, and let the world be an audience to your faith.  Minister to them, disciple them, and THEN the new believer they may join the Church body.

But don't bring a nonbeliever to church and hope the pastor does the work of the Great Commission for you.  We were told to "go" - not stay where we are and expect them to come to us.  A fisherman doesn't stand in his home and wait for fish - he goes out in a boat and casts his net.  We are to do the same.
