Reconciliation...
As I ponder the threat of judgment upon the "arrogant" and the "wicked," I have to wonder how God approaches the arrogance that flows into his world from those who claim his name and claim to speak for him. It seems to me that we who are a part of the "church" have much for which to repent and a long way to go to work in the fields in ways that could help people want to respond to God.
Q: Are we who claim the name of Christ so arrogant that we will justify all manner of evil as being in service to him?
When will we become a part of the "ministry of reconciliation" instead of the ministry of taxonomy and division?
If those questions sound angry, they are not offered with anger, but with a deep conviction that the people who currently claim to follow the Christ need to more fully imitate him. (Myself included.)
May his mercy and grace be greater than we could ever dream!
