Easy & Light

'Easy and light' are words that would make you think of someone lazy and desiring only to do the least amount of anything in life to barely get by and be left alone. However, when Jesus said these words He meant something totally opposite. Jesus' yoke and burden are easy and light. Yoke implies discipline to allow the authority of the Holy Spirit to guide and direct you as you willingly and purposefully obey.  Burden implies a path of heavy weight that would need strength and fortitude to withstand. However, walking with Jesus by His Spirit in obedience to His every instruction and direction affords even the greatest burden and trial of life to maintain its proper perspective because you will not be weighed down by the circumstances but rather lifted up above the situation to see and deal with all matters through the eyes of heaven's reference point.


If life gets you down......if depression weighs against your reality.......if hopelessness ensues......double check your walk with Jesus.  This is not a condemnation but rather a thermostat guide to help change your atmosphere in the midst of any surrounding pressures of life.

God is the patient parent/teacher that we all need in our lives and it does take time to learn this walk with Jesus and undo the conditionings of our past to carry our own burdens and do our own thing even to our own destruction.  But it's never too late to begin again. Truly, Jesus' yoke is easy and the assignments He gives for us to bear and affect for the good of others will always be light. Remember: easy and light with Jesus!
