God's absence and return

Abba said that He would withdraw His presence from Israel until they repented and sought His face. Being away from Abba's presence was a penalty that Cain found too hard to bear as well (Genesis 4:15). Without Abba, there is only evil and death. But He would restore His relationship when they humbled themselves and sought Him.

In our lives, Abba will sometimes withdraw and allow our consequences to pile up until we are at rock bottom and broken. It is then that we finally are humbled and truly repent. We seek Him with all of our heart. There still may be further consequences for our actions, but He restores us to Himself. Like the father of the prodigal son, He is anxiously awaiting our return and runs to us with open arms when we finally do. We have hope again. It's all because of Jesus.
